"We hired New Old to build a new custom home for us in Myers Park, near downtown Charlotte. We initially encountered New Old during the 2011 Homearama (tour of homes), which featured many of the greater Charlotte area's top custom homebuilders. There was something about their product that stood out from the rest; even amongst the crème de la crème of custom homebuilders in the area. The unique design and attention to detail caught our eye. So, when we decided to build a custom home of our own a few years later they were our first (and only) call. My wife and I are usually the type of people that would interview many companies and do exhaustive research, but on this decision we went with "gut feel," and decided to move forward with Troy and Mary without even talking with other custom builders.

It was one of the best decisions we've made. They deliver an exceptional level of client service, making you feel like you're their only client. They have an "eye" for making your home look and feel unique and adding design elements that add a lot of character. For example, in our living room and kitchen New Old installed several large rustic wooden beams across the ceiling that were originally part of a tobacco drying barn located in Kentucky and built in the late-1800s. Mary did a tremendous amount of research and was able to provide us with the backstory on the beams and the barn they came from and we now have an interesting story we can tell our guests, etc. This is the type of unique-ness and high-service approach that I think likely sets New Old apart from the many other custom builders. In a nutshell - very high quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, strong commitment to client service and flexibility. Very pleased with the final product and looking forward to making many memories with my family in this exceptional house built by New Old."
